Lakeland Regional Medical Center on Lakeland Hills Boulevard is the hospital CMS Care Compare lists in town. Social Security is on Commerce Drive
Signing up for Part A and Part B runs through Social Security. When I searched ZIP 33801 on Social Security's office locator, it listed the office at 550 Commerce Dr first. A lot can also be done online with a my Social Security account, without a trip to the office.
Polk leans toward private Medicare plans
In June 2026, 68.5% of Polk County's Medicare enrollees were in Medicare Advantage or another private health plan, according to CMS monthly enrollment data, compared with 57.1% across Florida. Popular isn't the same as right for you, so we still put that option next to Original Medicare with a Medigap policy.
